By Giving to World Outreach you can support the work of reaching the least reached peoples around the world with the good news of Jesus Christ.

General Information

Information about the various projects and missionaries that make up World Outreach is made available on a regular basis through ‘Nations’, our quarterly, all-colour magazine, through Appeals, through Newsletters and emails sent out by individual missionaries, and through the World Outreach International and World Outreach UK web sites.

We greatly covet the prayers of supporters, and value your financial support. Postal gifts are always receipted unless the donor has requested no receipt, and regular gifts through Standing Order are normally receipted soon after the end of the UK fiscal year in April.

Your status for Gift Aid is stated on each receipt of an individual gift, or on the annual statement for gifts received by Standing Order.

Gifts may also now be made using a Credit or Debit Card.

Personal Data

We hold all names, contact details and financial accounts on computer, but do not make the information available to persons outwith World Outreach.

When you give a gift to a specific Missionary or Ministry, the missionary involved will automatically be informed of your name and contact details so that they are able to thank you, and to provide you with the opportunity to receive information for prayer. If you prefer to remain Anonymous, please tell us.

Our desire is to encourage direct contact between supporter and missionary so that there can be a real involvement of the supporter in what is happening on the field. Although the World Outreach national office is very happy to supply information to supporters, with the revolution in electronic communications, up-to-date information is best received direct from the missionary.

Single Gifts

If you would like to make a single gift to a World Outreach project or missionary, you may do so by:

  • writing out a cheque and sending it to World Outreach
  • making a transfer to World Outreach using electronic banking
  • making a transfer to World Outreach using a Credit or Debit Card

If you write a cheque, please make it out to World Outreach, enclose a note to say how the money is to be designated, and send it to:

World Outreach
BM Box 5265
Tel: 0203 642 4873

If you make a transfer via electronic banking or Credit/Debit card, please email World Outreach to say how much you are sending, how the money is to be designated, and whether Gift Aid is to be applied to your gift. Or phone with the same details.

Regular Gifts

If you would like to make a regular gift to a World Outreach project or missionary, you can:

  • set up a Standing Order through your bank
  • set up a regular payment through PayPal

World Outreach does not use Direct Debits because Standing Orders allow the supporter to retain control of their giving, which we prefer.

The term ‘Standing Order’ refers to regular automatic credits made by a supporter’s bank into the World Outreach bank account.

If you set up a Standing Order through your bank, you may either:

  • complete a World Outreach Standing Order Form which you return to World Outreach
  • set up a standing order from your bank using electronic banking.

Whatever you do, it is important that your instruction quotes your World Outreach reference number so that we know who the money is from. Please contact the office if you do not know your reference number. It has the format ‘SMITH-07′: ie the first 5 letters of your surname followed by a two-digit number.

Please also ensure that we know where the money is to be designated.

Normally the amount of a regular payment will not change, and the payment may be arranged to be monthly, quarterly, or whatever you desire. A standing order remains totally under your control, and you may amend or cancel it at any time by contacting your bank.

Alternatively telephone or email the World Outreach UK office for a form to be sent to you.

When the form has been signed and completed, it should be sent back to the World Outreach UK office, who will add a reference number and forward the form to your bank for them to activate.

Gift Aid

You may be unaware that, if you pay Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax in the UK, you are able, by completing a simple declaration, to increase the value of your gifts to World Outreach or to Herald International by about 25%.

Indeed, if you pay tax at higher rates, it is even more advantageous to you to use the Gift Aid scheme because you can claim back tax via your tax return, as well as increasing your giving through this scheme.

Your Gift Aid declaration can be backdated, and Gift Aid can be reclaimed on your gifts by World Outreach, if you have paid sufficient income tax or capital gains tax during each relevant tax year.

In other words, you must have paid an amount of income tax or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that we will reclaim on your donations in each tax year. This is approximately 25p for each £1 you give. The Gift Aid form lists the options that are available to you.

You may notify World Outreach at any time that you wish to cancel your Gift Aid declaration. It will then not apply to any donations you make on or after the date of cancellation, or such later date as you specify. You should cancel your declaration if you no longer pay an amount of income tax or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax the charity reclaims.

Gift Aid Form

Alternatively telephone or email the World Outreach UK office for a form to be sent to you.

When the form has been signed and completed, it should be sent back to the World Outreach UK office, who will hold it on file.

Under the Gift Aid scheme, there are restrictions on giving to a missionary who is a close relative, for example, your son, daughter or grandchild, parent or grandparent, brother or sister, or the spouse of any of these.

If you are considering doing this, please check first with the the World Outreach UK office on 0203 642 4873.

Legacies and Bequests

If God has blessed you in your life, you will want to spread that blessing to others. However, since you do not know how long you will be on the earth, it can be difficult to know how much you should give in your lifetime. Through leaving a legacy, you can be involved in spreading the gospel, even after your death.

It is quite straightforward to specify World Outreach as a beneficiary in your will. If you quote “World Outreach” and “Charity No. 1101264″, the current address details for World Outreach will be freely available from the Charity Commission web site when they are required by an Executor.

Alternatively, the Stewardship charity have stated that people wanting to leave a financial gift in their will can leave it to “Stewardship” (“Charity No. 234714″), along with an ‘Expression of Wishes’ naming the charities to benefit. These wishes can be modified at any time without the cost and effort involved in changing a will.

Opinion is divided over whether you need to use a Solicitor to prepare a will, or whether it is sufficient to use a low-cost will-writing service. The internet will provide you with useful information, such as:
