‘World Outreach partners with a CPM in three states [in NE India] There has been a prolific explosion and axpansion of house churches throughout the northeast.

‘Over three solid days, Pastor Jonathan Oastler and I taught 60 significant leaders. These 60 pastors and leaders oversee 50,000 people.

Though generally we take clean water for granted, we all know how vital it is to life. Not for nothing did Jesus describe himself as ‘the living water.’ We would like to ask for your prayers for situations around the world where flood waters are causing death and destruction, and where the need for clean drinking water is desperate.

The flood situation across 26 provinces of Thailand, especially in Bangkok, remains critical. World Outreach teams are involved in flood relief, going out on rented boats distributing aid. Lives, homes and livelihoods have been lost. Crocodiles spotted in the waters present an extra hazard.

Field leader Lorraine Dierck reports that rice, rubber boots, foam mattresses and medicines are being distributed. But key in the relief work is the provision of life-saving Lifestraw water purifying kits for families unable to leave their homes to get fresh water.

‘All of our teams have asked me to thank donors for the wonderful and generous help sent, especially the Lifestraws. These are literally a gift from God,’ says Lorraine, ‘and our teams have been able to share about Christ with those who have received them. Our team members … have horror stories of finding whole communities with hundreds of families where the water is neck deep. They have no food, no water, and urgently need medicine to alleviate skin diseases coming from the foul black water they are forced to live in.’

Our picture shows the distribution of the family Lifestraws pack, which can purify 18,000 litres of dirty water, enough for a family of five for three years. It requires no electricity or spare parts, and costs £30. A personal portable purifier, which can be hung around the neck, costs £10. As well as individual donations, World Outreach is appealing for businesses to sponsor the delivery of 500 family packs.

You can give online at world-outreach.com, or if you are a UK tax payer and would like to have Gift Aid applied to your donation, please send your gift to the UK office: World Outreach International UK, PO Box 9256, Market Harborough, LE16 0FH or ask us at uk@world-outreach.com for details to help you make a direct bank transfer.

A short term mission in Leeds led by James Price

This summer a World Outreach team have been crossing culture barriers in a bid to learn more about God’s heart for the nations.

As part of a week-long mission & discipleship week, 14 people gathered in a predominantly Pakistani community in northern England to learn about cross-cultural mission. The week included cultural and Biblical training, climaxing with the team running a family fun day in partnership with the local city-wide kids club.

James Price, the World Outreach Mission Mobiliser who organised the week, commented: “The mission week was a fantastic opportunity for people to develop their understanding of God’s heart for the nations. You don’t have to go overseas to reach the nations – the ends of the earth are here in Europe, living on our doorsteps.”

Nathanialsaid: “Its helpful having the information about the different cultures, why they might be here and what issues we need to be aware of when sharing our faith. It has been a really useful experience, learning lessons for life.”

Spending time in another culture can be really challenging, but equally rewarding. Stepping out of your comfort zones allows God to stretch you and enlarge your vision for the nations. To find out more about short-term mission teams and internship opportunities, please contact us at World Outreach or find out more at www.abrahamconnection.net.

Today on five continents World Outreach missionaries and co-workers walk by faith with a vision to fulfil all that God has for their lives.

It tells the story of how, from scratch, a whole complex has been built in the middle of the jungle to cater for hundreds of abandoned and orphaned children and give them a home, an education and most importantly, a hope in Jesus.

Watch the video below:

Miracle in the Jungle (English) from Henk Hoeben on Vimeo.

Ronnie and his family moved to Borneo in faith to start the work with no contacts and no funds. From the first encounter they knew God was at work as they were led to some land that they were able to buy. One by one children were rescued and word spread that God was at work in this village of hope that had sprung up in the middle of the jungle.

Over the course of several years, and after miracle followed miracle a whole complex is being created to serve the needs of that country. All by faith and daring to believe that God can do more than we ask or think.

The work now receives visitors and helpers from all over the world.

You can read more about the work in Borneo at www.heyboer.org. To find out more about the opportunities there are to serve with this work you can go to our Opportunities section.

You can support the work in Borneo by giving through this website.

World Outreach International UK is a part of World Outreach International which exists to reach others for Christ.

Welcome!
Welcome to the new World Outreach UK website. We’ve been working on this for a few months and we’re finally ready to launch. We’ve given the site a completely new look and overhauled a lot of the content to bring it up to date. We hope you like it and are patient with us as we iron out anything that isn’t quite right.

Why have we changed things?
World Outreach UK is an office of World Outreach International which is based in Singapore. In order to communicate better to the UK we’ve given a local expression to the international organisation. You’ll find a lot of the same information but expressed in a way that is relevant to the UK culture so it is more accessible to our supporters there. There is a lot of giving from the UK and we wanted to support that and give you all the relevant information that you need.

Easy to update
So what exactly have we changed. Well for starters, we’ve made it a lot easier to add news and content so you can expect more updates, news and stories in the future from World Outreach and our missionaries as they are now able to contribute directly to the site. (If you are a World Outreach missionary and are reading this, that means you!)

Main stories
The main section you see when visiting our new site is the home page banner. This is where we’ll bring your attention to a latest news item or something new or important. To start with we’ve given you an International story about Living Waters Village in Borneo and a UK story of cross-cultural mission in Britain.

Get, Give, Go
We’ve tried to summarise the site with Get, Give, Go. Get all the information and news you need about World Outreach and our missionaries and projects. Give your time to pray, support and give to the work we are doing and Go through short term mission opportunities and finding out how to apply to be a WO missionary.

What’s next?
This is the first step in what we’ve got planned and we hope that over the coming months and years we will continue to develop the site to communicate everything that World Outreach is doing and how you can support the work.

Got 5 minutes?
If you’ve got this far you’re clearly interested and we’d love to get our feedback as we take your views seriously. Just fill out our five minute survey to tell us what you like and don’t like about the new site and what you’d like to see more or less of. Thanks!
